I am Valerie Cummins, and I am currently in my second year of my master's program in Library Science at the University of North Texas and currently working as a Graduate Student Assistant at the University of North Texas in the UNT Libraries as part of Access Services. I have a bachelor's degree in English and American Literature with a minor in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. I am a US Navy veteran who has experienced both deployment and humanitarian aid mobilization, and I hope to bring those experiences with me into my future career as a librarian.
This website consists of my educational and professional development thus far, both elsewhere and at UNT. Currently, this means it consists primarily of this introduction page, a brief rundown of my education to date, my resume, and the reflection post. I am currently employed by the University of North Texas Libraries as a graduate student assistant in the Access Services department, assisting at the circulation desk and Ask Us reference service.
